Education
Dr Koh was educated at Epsom College and became the Freer Lucas Scholar at Middlesex Hospital Medical School, London in 1983. He was awarded the Meyerstein Scholarship and won the Charles Bell Prize in Anatomy, Charlotte Dixon Prize in Neurology and the Frank Scott Prize.
Dr Koh was awarded a First Class Honours degree for his Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Immunology and Cell Pathology in 1985 by the University of London.
He won the Sir Thomas Lewis Memorial Prize in Cardiology in 1989.
Dr Koh qualified in 1989 from University College and Middlesex Hospital Medical School (now University College London Medical School, University of London).

Historical note
The Freer Lucas Scholarship was endowed in 1893 in memory of William Freer Lucas, a distinguished medical officer at The Middlesex Hospital. A plaque commemorating him on the Watt’s Memorial remains to this day in Postman’s Park, London.
Postgraduate education
Dr Koh obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 1992. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2005.
He was awarded a British Heart Foundation Fellowship for research into the effect of revascularization on heart function. This research was completed at the Royal Brompton Hospital and led to seminal publications. Dr Koh has presented his research all over the world, in the UK, US and Europe.
Dr Koh was awarded the postgraduate degree of Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) University of London in 1998.

Dr Koh has worked and trained in Cardiology at some of the most prestigious London Teaching Hospitals and Tertiary Cardiac Centres including:

Current appointment
Dr Koh was appointed Consultant Cardiologist in 2001 jointly at Barts and The London NHS Trust - The London Chest Hospital, and at BHR University Hospitals NHS Trust.
