Profile: Dr T.W. Koh

Dr Koh was awarded NHS Clinical Excellence Awards in 2005, 2007, 2010 and 2012.
He is a National Health Service Consultant Cardiologist at Barts Heart Centre and BHR NHS Trust. Dr Koh is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and regularly performs emergency coronary angioplasty (primary angioplasty) at the Barts Heart Attack Centre.
Dr Koh is an expert in transoesohageal echocardiography. He established and headed the Transoesophageal Echo service at London Chest Hospital (Barts Health). He has performed in excess of 2500 transoesophageal echo procedures, and he has published scientific papers and contributed to textbooks (Oxford Handbook of Cardiology) on this subject.
Dr Koh has full Accreditation in Transthoracic and Transoesophageal Echocardiography from both British Society of Echocardiography and the European Society of Cardiology. He is also an elected Fellow of American Society of Echocardiography.
He is a member of British Heart Valve Society and European Society of Cardiology Working Group on Valvular Heart Disease.
Dr Koh’s clinical practice encompasses all aspects of adult cardiology.
